Procrastination!
Two Days in a row?!
Help! I think I'm getting sick.
Are these people really going to campaign at this annoying pace until November?
Snow Cones. Who knew they could be such an adventure.
So, today is day three of my week and I have been traveling at an alarming rate through it. This semester does not leave any time for me to do extra things outside of school, work, and my observations. On the list of extra things: GETTING SICK, watching the Sopranos DVD that I just got from Netflix, GETTING SICK, and um, GETTING SICK! See a pattern here? My whole family has been down and out for the past week. I kept hoping and praying that this sickness would not be passed on to me. I think that it has been because I can hardly breathe, my throat is feeling itchy-scratchy, and I'm getting the aches. Boooo!
Part of the reason I don't have time to be sick is the 3 page paper I have due on Friday. I'll be honest-I have never been so scared by one homework assignment in my life. It's an argumentative essay on a Robert Frost poem. You know it's going to be a challenge when the professor starts of his explanation of the assignment with, "All of you will turn in a weak essay. This does not necessarily indicate failure. Hope that at best you'll achieve a C- on this assignment." Someone should clue him in. This is not the most encouraging way to explain an assignment. Part of writing this blog is me truly not wanting to work on this evil paper! Ahhh, procrastination.
I had hoped to give you at least a few sentences on each of my possible titles. I won't do that today. I've had enough of hiding from my Frost paper and I think that I need to go lay down for a bit too. Maybe I'll fill you in tomorrow on Snow Cones, annoying presidential candidates, and new favorite drink-flavored water. That would make three days in a row! Pretty darn amazing if you ask me. :p

A little bit of sadness...
So the title of my blog sounds kind of depressing, huh? But, I am a little sad today. While checking my email at work, I was greeted by a screen reading "Ledger DEAD at 28". Heath Ledger wasn't a close personal friend of mine by any means; however, I have become familiar with him through the many movies he has been in. Most of them I liked. As a matter of fact, I just watched 10 Things I Hate About You the other day. I laughed while I was watching it because I remembered how one of my best friends and I talked forever about how much we loved him.
How sad that his life ended so soon. He was 28, the same age I am. There is so much life in front of me, so I hope and pray, that I can't imagine it being done so soon for anyone.
As I catch the Hollywood news I am constantly impressed with how terrible that life must really be. There is no such thing as privacy and it seems that fewer celebrities are living with dignity and character. Or, at least, society has chosen to focus on those specific ones so much that it seems that's the case for everyone. Life in Hollywood is truly life in the fast lane. Sadly, Ledger may have been a victim of that.
On a happier, less depressing note, I started my observations in Special Ed. again today. I can't begin to describe how much I LOVE working with these students. It has been almost a month since I have seen them and I really missed them! Seeing them today was truly a bright spot in my week. Thank God for blessings like this one :)!

Dusting off my blog....
Well, as my friend Aimee put it, my blog is quite dusty. I have thought about blogging so many times. Obviously there wasn't much action past that point. Sorry friends.
Life has been good. Very busy, but very good. I am amazed that we are in a new year. How did that happen so fast? I'm very lucky because my birthday and New Years Day are quite close together. With this, I try to set a resolution or goal for myself on my birthday and carry it in to the new year with me. This year I was a little stumped as to what kind of goal I wanted to set. Since my life is completely different than it was six months ago, I felt like I was already working on so many new things. And so I am going to try this...I am going to work on not letting negative people, situations, incidents steal my joy. I want to be a happier person with everything in my life.
There is so much going on right now that many days that is a challenge. I am going to do my best though. Pray that I am strong and committed to this.
I'll do my best to blog more often and keep you posted on how this goal is transforming my life.
