And, it's been confirmed-

I was where I thought I was. I am where I need to be. I'm going where He wants me to go. Oh yeah, and he's right there with me and has been the whole time.

Grace for the Moment
-Max Lucado
Secure in His Grasp
God is strong and can help you not to fall. Jude 24
You and I are on a great climb. the wall is high, and the stakes are higher. You took your first step the day you confessed Christ as the Son of God. He gave you harness-the Holy Spirit. In your hands, he placed a rope-his Word.

Your first steps were confident and strong, but with the journey came weariness, and with the height came fear. You lost your footing. You lost your focus. You lost your grip, and you fell. For a moment, which seemed like forever, you tumbled wildly. Out of control. Out of self-control. Disoriented. Dislodged. Falling.

But then the rope tightened, and the tumble ceased. You hung in the harness and found it to be strong. You grasped the rope and found it to be true. And though you can't see your guide, you know him. You know he is strong. You know he is able to keep you from falling.

Time to re-focus

It is amazing to me that some situations can become consuming, overwhelming, and disheartening. They can make me feel like God is so far away, so small, and not aware of what is going on in my life. The situations "can" make me feel this way because I let them. I ultimately take my eyes off of God and as soon as that happens, Satan grabs hold and has a hay day with me.

This weekend I realized that I needed to re-focus. I came up for air and recognized that I have been allowing myself to be consumed and controlled by feelings and things that are not of God. And in the midst of all of this, I am so thankful that His Grace allows me to drift away and come back. He is forgiving, accepting, loving, and does not judge me for my mistakes or hold them against me.

Sometimes people suck!

By the title of my blog, you probably already know that this hasn't been a good day for me. But, for real, sometimes people suck! Today my day was full of them. Not people that these people suck ALL of the time, just in these specific instances. A few questions that I have -mostly rhetorical....

1) Why do people feel the need to park themselves in the left hand lane on the freeway and drive at least 5 miles under the speed limit? Don't they know that is what the right hand lane is for?!

2) If someone calls you, shouldn't you call them back? We're all busy, I get that. However, it's rude to not return a phone call.

3) Is it OK to hold someone over during an appt. -if they tell you that it's time for them to wrap things up- just because you have questions that you didn't bother to ask during your last meeting with the appropriate person to answer them?

4) When you fail to take care of your responsibility would it be OK to pass blame on to everyone else so that you don't have to be accountable for what you think you didn't do?

5) I would say the cost of gas is pretty high. Wouldn't it make sense to get reimbursed more for mileage since the employer got rid of the agency car and you are now expected to drive yours across four counties in one day?

So, that's most of it right there. I'm sorry to complain and to make others read it, but I had to get it off my chest. Next blog I'll do my best to be less crabby about things-specifically people who suck!

Make new friends, but keep the old

I have been blessed in my life to have many great and wonderful friends. Some of them I have known since I moved to Olivet in the third grade. Others I met in college or through some other life experience. No matter when I met a friend, I am always super thankful for their presence in my life and the role that they play.

Tonight I got to spend time with old friends. Well, they aren't old, but our friendship is. We've known each other since the third grade. I loved every minute of it. We laughed and shared and talked and caught up and strolled down memory lane and just enjoyed our friendship. The beautiful part is that all three of us are in different areas of life. One of us is married and just had her third baby, the other is finishing up school and preparing for a new career, while I am just beginning my school. But, no matter the differences in the details of our lives, the most important thing remains-our love for each other as friends.

This is the second experience with a friend this week that has caused me to stop and realize how truly lucky I really am. Some people may not be lucky enough to have even one good friend in their lifetime and I have been blessed with lots of best friends. I hope that for everyone.

SERIOUSLY!!!

So, Paris Hilton turned herself in last night- according to People.com. She has begun serving 23 days of jail time after violating her probation. Her response, "In the future, I plan on taking more of an active role in the decisions I make."
GOOD! Good for her (yes I'm being sarcastic). Who in the world can get away with not being active in the decisions they make? Who made her drink too much and get behind the wheel AGAIN if she didn't play an "active role" in all of that? For crying out loud-please, leave her in jail. Her stupidity might really hurt someone.
Ok-done venting.
