It's been a while since I've blogged about my obsession with Grey's Anatomy. But, in my defense, while it's an obesession-it's a healthy one.
I missed last weeks episode on TV so I get caught up tonight online. Fabulous form of technology and I'm sure this won't be the last time that I take advantage of it. It was sad, really sad. I've had a tough week at work (yes, and it's only Wednesday) and I just cried, and cried, and cried some more. Of course, it wasn't all just the show. I just needed to come out and for some reason, Grey's does that to me. One of the many reasons why I LOVE IT!
But in looking up something about the show, I found a blog written by a Grey's writer, Krista Vernoff. I thought that what she said was genius, beautiful, and worth sharing.
" I believe that where there is darkness there is light. I believe that from death comes life. I believe that in the face of great pain, families become closer. Friendships become deeper. Life becomes sweeter. And I believe it’s important to be reminded of the loss of love so that we will value and honor the love we have while have it.
I hope you do that. "

Little Miss Sunshine
Have you seen this movie? I watched it a few weeks ago and I loved it! It was not at all what I had expected, but that was not a bad thing.
So, because I loved it so much, I want to share my favorite part with you. I still get all out of breath and red in the face from laughing at this. Enjoy!

God you are so good!
So it's two weeks in to 2007 and I'll have to tell you-God is amazing! I am so thankful for the blessings He has bestowed upon me this far.
Most of you probably don't know this about me, but I do not get up in the morning all that well. I usually hit snooze so many times that the alarm eventually turns itself off. Not good...especially on work days. But, for the past two weeks I have been getting up at 6:30am-no problem. I have been making sure that I'm in bed by 10pm or so and I have been working out everyday-taking two days off each week. I feel great! I attribute all of this to God. I know that I could never be this disciplined or focussed without Him.
Back a few months ago I was part of a bible study called Alpha. It's amazing and worldwide so if you have the chance to do it, you should. But, one of the last lessons was on healing. I made myself volnerable in front of my group and asked for healing when it came to my diabetes. I did not want God to take my diabetes away necessarily, but help heal me mentally and emotionally so that I could deal with it, take care of myself appropriately, and get it under control. I fully believe that these prayers are huge part of the reason why my life is feeling so good right now. I'm on track, my sugar levels are great, and I'm working at getting my cholesterol under control. I am even hoping that I can get in good shape and run the Old Kent Riverbank Run in the spring. It's a 25k and that would just be awesome!
God, you are so good!

It's a new year!
Yeah! For the New Year!
2007 rang in a little bit calmer than it has in the past for me. I'm not complaining though. It was really nice to wake up on the 1st and not have a pounding headache, an overwhelming sense of nausea, and some slight confusion about the events of the prior night. I was lucky to be able to spend the beginning of my new year with friends and having a good time.
I've tried to make a habit out of not making New Year's Resolutions. I never remember to keep them and I figure that anything worth changing in my life just needs to be done. Not just end up being a promise to try and change it. Does that make sense? And so I chose to think about the past year and try to determine what needed to change. In my evaluation of 2006 I realized a few things. It was a pretty stagnant year. I mean lots of things happened-both good and bad. But nothing too major occurred. I have the same job, living in the same place, still debating about the same things, same joys, and same struggles.
So, for 2007, I hope for change. Preferably good changes at that. But, I would like to have something in my life that I am excited about. Not just normal excited, but overly excited, filled to the brim with anticipation, and bursting at the seams with details to share. This is not something that I can make happen. It's something that I will pray for. Something that I will hope for. Something that I will wait for.
In the meanwhile, I'm going to enjoy my time. Not too many people get to say that life has been good with no major complaints. I get to say that for the majority of 2006 and for that I am thankful.
WELCOME 2007~I can't wait to live out what you have in store.
